1. Freelance Content Writer
A freelance content writer is someone who writes informative and engaging articles. They are usually specialized in a particular niche or industry. The purpose of writing decides what information will be included in the article.
For example, if you are writing content for a website, the information would be related to the website, its product offerings, services, mission, vision, etc.
Whereas, social media posts or articles are different and usually involve promotional content or information to increase a particular type of audience or followers. This may include some infographics, images, and more to attract the audience.
2. Freelance Academic Writer
This one is my favorite as I am passionate to write research papers and market research reports especially related to the healthcare or medical industry. As an academic writer, you will be required to write academic essays, research papers, whitepapers, dissertations, academic assignments, academic courses, exam papers, and more.
Academic writers are meant to help students with their homework, examinations, academic projects, etc. You can enroll yourself on academic content websites to start with. Some of these academic writing sites are Chegg, Study.com, Academia-Research, and others.
In order to get selected on these platforms, you will be required to complete specific tests including an online grammar test and subject test of your choice.
I have made specific videos explaining these websites and how and where to apply. You can check them on my YouTube channel, it's free.
3. Freelance Copywriter
Freelance copywriters are required to write copy to promote a business, product, or service. This helps in brand building, attracting the right audience, engaging them, and selling products and services.
Copywriters create persuasive copy for marketing campaigns, promotional materials, brochures, flyers, advertisements, sales pages, and more to engage the audience and convert them for sales.

Freelance Scientific Writers or Medical writers, as specified in their names, are specialized to write the content of specific types. They are a little different in the sense that resume writing mainly revolves around an individual's resume, cover letter, and more to build a professional image.
As a resume writer, you will be required to write LinkedIn profiles, professional resumes, cover letters, etc. This will help individuals seeking jobs highlight their skills and experiences.
6. Grant Writer
