For freelancers, it is essential to be able to sell their skills to clients and businesses who need those services. Here comes the role of freelance marketplaces that connect freelancers to their potential clients.
Undoubtedly, there are other ways that also exist to sell your freelance services such as networking, cold emailing, social media platforms, etc. However, I feel freelance platforms are by far the best because people coming to these platforms are the actual clients with the purpose to buy the desired services. It can be from any of the freelancers available on the platform including you.
So, here on these freelance platforms like Fiverr, the chances of receiving work increase if you present your skills in the form of a nice work portfolio and share it on your freelance profile page.
Here in this blog, I am trying to focus on how you can increase your chance of getting freelance projects on Fiverr. In my previous blog, I already explained Why and How I Started On Fiverr? If you are a beginner, you can check the blog for more clarity on how to start on Fiverr.
Below, are a few ways to help you increase your chances to receive a freelance project on Fiverr.
- Once you are on Fiverr, to succeed and be able to receive orders, the first and foremost thing is to understand that you need to increase traffic to your profile or gig pages.
- To increase traffic, you need to follow keywords and SEO strategies. This simply means that you need to put as many relevant keywords as possible while describing your profile and gig details.
- This will help you come out at the top whenever a client searches for relevant services as there are thousands of other freelancers also available on the platform selling similar services. So, it is a significant step to be able to be searchable.
- Once your profile or gig page appears at the top searches, your profile and gig presentation should be so interesting for the clients making them click on the gig page. As explained earlier, it is crucial to stand out from the crowd through your gig pages, samples, images, etc. to attract as many clients as possible.
- Now, coming to the gig page, it should be so well written that provides all the required information related to the skill you wish to sell along with the clearly mentioned price, services, and relevant examples or samples.
- Once the client is on your gig page and gets convinced by the samples you have published on your gig page and the prices, chances are that he/she will send you a message related to the desired services.
- You should make sure that you have the mobile app of Fiverr on your phone and that notifications are enabled. Try to respond to the client's queries as soon as possible as this will help you get a good "average response time" shown on your profile page. This is important as response time is visible to all who visit your profile.
- As per the client's query, you can also offer them "custom offers" made especially for them. This can have a greater impact on clients and they might accept your order.
- This is important to understand that clients who wish to order certain projects look for different freelance profiles. They usually send messages to a number of freelancers they select based on their gig pages. So, this is important to respond to their messages immediately as you will have an edge if you are an early respondent.
- Also, make sure to resolve all of your client's queries on time. On the other hand, providing custom offers and work samples would benefit you by explaining your services better to your client.
- In addition to this, also make sure to offer competitive pricing on your gig pages as well as through custom offers.
- Clients used to get pricing details from different freelancers and compare their services. Accordingly, they decide to place the order with one of the freelancers they contacted for their project.
